King's Gambit Accepted: Stamma Gambit

From the archives

For three centuries chess WAS the King's Gambit — Anderssen's Immortal Game (1851), sacrificing both rooks and the queen, opens 1.e4 e5 2.f4. Then Fischer, furious after losing to Spassky's, published 'A Bust to the King's Gambit' (1961). It's never been the same — and it still wins miniatures every day.
